Mobile, Ala. – Saturday, July 14th, boys and girls ages 6 to 16 from non-profits in Mobile and the surrounding region are invited to attend a youth soccer clinic presented by the Dollar General Bowl and AFC Mobile, a free half-day clinic of soccer skills and drills training at Lipscomb Field.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet and work with AFC Mobile players and coaches; run offensive, defensive and agility drills’; learn proper techniques to promote on-field safety; and learn about the importance of character development and good sportsmanship.
The clinic will be held on the Lipscomb Field located on Michael Boulevard from 8:30 am – 11:00 am. Equipment will be provided and participants should wear cool, comfortable clothing with tennis shoes or cleats. Lunch will also be provided for the participants after the clinic. Each participant will receive a clinic t-shirt, soccer ball and tickets to that evening AFC Mobile season finale against the Port City FC. The game will kick-off at 7 pm at Lipscomb Field.
The non-profits participating in the clinic include Soccer4Life, Team Focus, Catholic Services and the Palmer-Williams Group to name a few.
This year, the Dollar General Bowl celebrates its 20th year with the game being set for Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 6 pm (CT) to be televised nationally on ESPN. Played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, the game pits top-selected teams from the Sun Belt Conference and the Mid-American Conference.
